Description
Image Compression
Image compression is a process applied to a graphic file to minimize its file size in bytes without degrading image quality. There are two types of image compression: lossy and lossless.
Lossy compression reduces an image file size by permanently removing less critical and redundant information of the image. Lossy compression can significantly reduce file size. On the other hand, lossless compression does not remove critical data and the compressed image can be restored to its original state. Lossless compression has little advantage in reducing image file size.
